As part of our Faculty Leadership Team, our Teachers in Charge play a key rolein delivering consistent, high-quality junior and senior programmes. You willsupport strong collective practice and help drive high academic achievementacross the faculty.

You will value knowledge-rich approaches andpedagogy informed by cognitive science and demonstrate the ability to fosterprofessional growth across the team, both individually and collectively.
Teacher inCharge – English Literacy
This role leads literacy initiatives across the English Faculty, includingoversight of our Junior English Literacy Acceleration programme and SeniorEnglish Literacy courses. You will champion literacy development, ensuringalignment with curriculum goals and student needs.
Teacher inCharge – Senior English
This role leads our Level 2 and Level 3 English programmes, with a focus onsecuring high academic achievement across Years 12 and 13. You will support thedelivery of Scholarship English, English Extension, and English Literacypathways.
We offer a range of English pathways, including Scholarship English, EnglishExtension, and English Literacy. Our programmes are designed to build a strongfoundation of knowledge and skills, aligned with the refreshed EnglishCurriculum, NCEA co-requisites, senior course requirements, and NZQAScholarship standards.

Long Bay College is a co-educational secondary school located in a peaceful location near Long Bay Beach and the new Long Bay Village. The school opened in 1975 and has approximately 1900 students with 170 teaching and support staff combined.
The terms andconditions, including base salary and hours of work, for this position is setby the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trainedand registered teachers will range from $61,329 to $103,086, depending onapplicant's qualifications and experience. An individuals actual base salarywill be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
