We are seeking two outstanding leaders to join our English Faculty in term 1, 2026.
Supported by our Head and Assistant Head of Faculty, these roles offer exciting opportunities to contribute to a high-performing team committed to academic excellence, collective growth, and a culture of care.
As part of our Faculty Leadership Team, our teachers-in-charge play a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality junior and senior programmes.
You will support strong collective practice and help drive academic achievement across the faculty.
We are looking for exceptional classroom practitioners with strengths in curriculum design and leadership.
You will value knowledge-rich approaches, pedagogy informed by cognitive science, and foster professional growth across the team.
Leads literacy initiatives across the faculty, including our Junior English Literacy Acceleration programme and Senior English Literacy courses.
You will champion literacy development aligned with curriculum goals and student needs.
Leads our Level 2 and 3 English programmes, supporting Scholarship English, English Extension, and Literacy pathways, with a focus on high achievement in Y12 and 13.
Our English pathways are designed to build strong foundations aligned with the refreshed curriculum, NCEA co-requisites, and NZQA Scholarship standards.

The terms and conditions, including base salary and hours of work, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement.
The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $61,329 to $103,086, depending on applicant's qualifications and experience.
An individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
