About The Team
The Market Services group supports real-time delivery of the System Operator service, provides market response information, procures specialist market products, engages stakeholders, and contributes to market development and strategy.

You will be part of the team that ensures the electricity system keeps the lights on for homes, businesses and communities.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the modelling, analysis and future development of the electricity market.
Inform policy, forecast electricity supply, and investigate system changes that enable new technology deployment.
Communicate insights to colleagues, senior staff and external stakeholders, enabling informed decision making.
Prioritise work across projects, demonstrating agility, flexibility and resilience in fluid situations.
Qualifications
Skilled in using Python and Power BI.
Ability to work with ambiguity and solve problems with missing information.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to present technical concepts clearly.
Results-oriented with a proactive drive for improvements.
Inquisitive and analytical mind.
Bachelor's or higher degree in mathematics, science, engineering, economics, operations research or a related field (required).
Knowledge of the New Zealand electricity or energy sector, familiarity with complex system modelling and large data analysis is advantageous.
