We are looking for a full-time, permanent Senior Lecturer for the School of Education\'s Bachelor of Education (Primary, Pasifika) with a real passion for teaching and learning to join our team.
Having knowledge and understanding of Pacific language(s) and / or Te Reo Maori is an advantage though not essential if you pride yourself on your multicultural competencies in diverse learning environments.This position will be instrumental in the delivery and continued development of a visionary new programme based on vocational initial teacher education, utilising a blend of school-based and on-campus learning to graduate qualified teachers who can lead multicultural classrooms.
You will work closely with the teaching team along with partner schools to deliver a programme that ensures our teacher graduates are prepared and ready to step into schools and communities with vast and varied classroom experience gained during study.ResponsibilitiesSupporting and continuing the development work in a Bachelor of Education Initial Teacher Education programmeCreating and maintaining the critical relationships with partner schools in support of school-based and block professional practice experiencesDeveloping teaching content, resources & assessment within the programme to facilitate high learner engagement in a blended environmentMaintaining currency of practice through active research, professional development and / or further studyVisiting and assessing student teachers in professional practice experiencesWhat we are looking forA minimum of a Master\'s degree relevant in Education - e.g. MEd, MEdLd, MEdPrac, MTchCurrent Full New Zealand Drivers LicenceCurrent Full Practising Certificate with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New ZealandMinimum 5 years of experience in working with young people in school settings catering to learners across years 0-8 and their families in senior school leadership role(s) (or similar)Ideally you will have experience teaching and working with adult learnersStrong commitment to Te Tiriti o WaitangiIdeally an active researcher with recent outputs relevant to teaching and learningIdeally you bring a wide network of contacts within and outside of Education (Primary and Intermediate Schools) and experience teaching and leading mainstream and / or immersion and / or bilingual classrooms and awareness of working with adult learners.Join our diverse team of passionate people whose mission is to transform lives, communities and industry.
