Mo tenei turanga mahi | The opportunityAs a Lecturer for our Diploma in Teaching (Primary) Level 7, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of primary education within NZSE.
This full-time position is based in the heart of Auckland CBD, providing you with the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality vocational training to aspiring primary school teachers.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver engaging content, industry-relevant lectures online and face to face delivery (via Canvas LMS and MS Teams)
Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support their academic and professional development
Contribute to the continuous improvement of primary teaching curriculum and course materials – aligned to NZQA standards
Engage in Research and scholarly events
Mentor and guide students, fostering their growth and preparing them for successful careers in primary education
Incorporate te reo me nga tikanga Maori, Pasifika values, and principles of Mana Orite into your teaching
Ko koe tenei | About you
Tertiary qualified in Education (ideally Masters) including an active current Teacher Registration
Substantial experience as a New Zealand primary school teacher / Tertiary Lecturer in Education
Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ability to embed its principles in your teaching
Experience with NZQA programme design, assessment, and moderation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback
A passion for educating and mentoring the next generation of primary school teachers
Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ability to embed its principles in your teaching
