Te Kura Hakinakina (School of Sport and Recreation), Te Wananga Aronui o Tamaki Makaurau Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Health and Physical Education.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Tamaki Makaurau - Auckland, New Zealand.

Responsibilities

Lead and innovate in course delivery and curriculum development across a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses that have a focus on health and physical education.

Develop research that enhances the knowledge base in the fields of health and physical education and aligns with our industry partnerships.

You will also contribute to akonga (student) supervision in work-integrated placements and postgraduate study.

Engage meaningfully with akonga, promoting Kotahitanga and creating a learner-centred environment that encourages academic and personal growth.

Actively integrate Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles into teaching and research by collaborating with colleagues to uphold kawanatanga, tino rangatiratanga, oritetanga, creating culturally safe and inclusive spaces.

Qualifications

Hold a doctoral qualification in Health and Physical Education and / or Education, or hold a Master's degree in a relevant field with enrolment in (or readiness to enrol in) a doctoral programme as a condition of appointment.

Have experience in delivering high-quality education that meets the needs of students and industry.

Possess strong communication skills, enjoy collaborative teamwork, and are confident with IT and organisational tools.

Demonstrate strong cultural intelligence and a deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, fostering an inclusive environment that empowers akonga Maori and communities.

NgaUtu| Salary

Lecturer : $92,000 - $110,000 per annum (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)

Senior Lecturer : $113,000 - $148,000 per annum (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
