We are seeking a passionate and industry-savvy Lecturer specialising in Business Intelligence to join our School of Technology.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to teaching and curriculum development of our Masters in Business Intelligence in a rapidly evolving field that blends data-driven decision-making with ethical, strategic business leadership.
Opportunity Details
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Business Intelligence, Business, or a closely related discipline, with a strong foundation in core business principles such as ethical leadership, HR metrics, business systems, and AI in business.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deliver and assess coursework aligned with learning outcomes and NZQA
Supervise postgraduate research projects and capstone assignments
Contribute to curriculum design and continuous improvement of academic programs
Engage with industry partners and contribute to research and community engagement
Deliver engaging, practice-informed lectures, tutorials, and workshops
Key Papers
Business Intelligence Modelling for Decision Support, Ethical Leadership and Transformation, AI for Business, Business Information Systems, Human Resource Management and Metrics.
About You
You are an experienced lecturer in Business Intelligence with a strong academic background, industry-relevant experience, and a passion for innovative pedagogy in business intelligence.
You Will Have
A PhD in Business, Technology or similar
Experience with NZQA programme design, assessment, and moderation
Active involvement in research
Minimum tertiary-level teaching experience (Level 9 or above) in New Zealand
Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ability to embed its principles in your teaching
Knowledge of current BI and AI tools and their real-world applications in business
Possess the Diploma or NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 / 6, or willing to work towards one
