Position Summary
Working under the supervision of the Sub Foreman, the Power Line Technician is responsible for the construction, maintenance, repair and testing of distribution, transmission, overhead and underground electrical systems.
Essential Qualifications
Trade qualification as a Journeyman Power Line Technician / Lineman with inter-provincial red seal certificate
25 kV Class 3 Rubber Glover certification
Class 3 Driver's License with airbrake endorsement
1 year recent related experience
Crane Certifications to operate any lifting device within Nelson Hydro's System
Intermediate Level First Aid with Transport Endorsement
Bucket Rescue and Pole Top Rescue Training
Helicopter Hover Exit Training
Compensation
$53.94 (IBEW 1003)
Hours
8 hours per day
Days
Main work days will be Monday to Friday.
Power Line Technicians will also participate on an on-call roster.
