The role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced ECE teacher to join us in a combined head teacher & curriculum lead role.

This position leads both a teaching team and the centre's curriculum development, ensuring excellence in pedagogy, planning, and assessment.

Key responsibilities :

Lead a teaching team, providing mentoring, coaching, and professional guidance.

Ensure the delivery of a high-quality, Te Whariki aligned curriculum across all age groups.

Model best practice in teaching, care routines, and inclusive pedagogy.

Lead internal evaluation, reflective practice, and quality improvement initiatives.

Build strong, reciprocal partnerships with whanau and the wider community.

Support compliance, centre policies, and contribute to leadership decisions.

Requirements :

ECE teaching qualification (Level 7+)

Full teacher registration (Category One or Two) with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa NZ

Proven leadership and mentoring experience

Strong knowledge of Te Whariki, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and bicultural practice

Excellent communication and team-building skills

Current First Aid certificate

Experience as head teacher, curriculum lead, or in a leadership role in ECE

Experience in inclusive education and diverse communities
