As a Hammerhand, you'll play a vital supporting role on commercial construction sites in Wellington.  Working alongside skilled tradespeople, you'll take part in physically engaging tasks while growing your practical skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Assist carpenters and tradespeople with daily construction tasks on site.

Load, unload, and manage tools, materials, and PPE.

Help erect and dismantle temporary structures (e.g., scaffolding, work platforms).

Perform basic carpentry and finishing tasks under supervision.

Mix, pour, and spread materials like concrete as directed.

Keep work areas tidy and safe, following all health and safety protocols.

Operate hand and basic power tools as instructed, maintaining care and precision.

What You Bring

Practical construction experience preferred—but keen learners with a great attitude are welcomed.

Reliability, physical fitness, and readiness for hard mahi.

A keen eye for detail and a safety-first approach.

Own basic hand or power tools required.

A positive, team-oriented mindset aligned with Rāranga’s values of respect, reciprocity, and growth.
