This includes the operation of plant and equipment, manual asphalt placement, site preparation, and finishing.The Asphalt Operator plays a key role in delivering projects on time and to specification, contributing to the team's overall success.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & TechnicalOperate asphalt equipment such as pavers, rollers, trucks, and hand toolsCarry out manual tasks such as raking, shoveling, and compacting asphaltUnderstand job specifications and instructions provided by the Supervisor or ForepersonMaintain plant and equipment to a high standardAssist in setting up and packing down job sitesEnsure work is carried out to the specified standards and tolerancesTake care with site presentation and finishing workAssist in maintaining accurate site records as requestedTeamwork & CultureWork collaboratively with fellow crew members to complete tasks &Communicate clearly and respectfully on siteRepresent HEB values through professionalism and teamworkHealth & SafetyFollow all HEB safety procedures and wear PPE at all timesActively contribute to a safe worksite by identifying hazards and reporting near misses / incidentsParticipate in toolbox talks and safety briefingsOperate plant and equipment within safe work practicesQualifications & ExperienceSite Safe Construction PassportClass 1 NZ Driver LicenceExperience with asphalt surfacing equipment or civil constructionFamiliarity with safe work practices on civil sitesClass 2 or higher licenceKnowledge of bitumen handling
