Fleet Manger

Our dedicated and high performing team offers whole-of-life vehicle and mobile plant management, from procurement, lease management, and disposal, to scheduled and unscheduled servicing, maintenance, and defect management.As Fleet Manager you will use your effective management and strategic leadership to drive operational excellence within your delivery portfolio.

You will form robust relationships with key internal customers and the wider Fleet team to promote Fleet services, ensure optimal performance of assets and return on investment.

This is a key role within our Fleet Delivery team that services the Wellington region.

Ideally you will be based in Wellington to enable close working relationships with key internal stakeholders.Key responsibilitiesMaximise fleet utilisation by providing informed advice and support to customersFoster a strong culture of safety and complianceCollaborate with Senior Management to align fleet operations with strategic goals and lead change initiativesDevelop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships through developing a deep understanding of the customer base and providing regular updates to Senior ManagementPerform regular review of asset performance; identify improvement opportunities and manage maintenance schedules to minimise downtimeUse data insights for operational optimisationImportant SkillsHigh-level people and project management experience, ideally in a fast-paced environment and working with multi-functional teams across the businessIn-depth knowledge of fleet management principles, asset lifecycle management, and maintenance best practicesExcellent relationship building skills with the ability to positively engage and influence peers and stakeholdersExperience in strategic planning, business development, and implementing process improvementsUnderstanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and best practicesStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insightsEffective communication and interpersonal skills to engage, influence and empower othersStrong problem solving and decision-making skills with practical and innovative solutionsAbility to travel and stay away from home as requiredWhy you will enjoy working hereDowner is committed to delivering excellence by ensuring our people have the environment and the means to be successful.
