You will work closely with our Surveyors and project teams, undertaking a variety of field and office survey tasks and contributing to the successful delivery of projects.Position Summary : Salary : $75,000 – $90,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)Location : Auckland CBD, New ZealandEmployment Type : Permanent – Full timeHours of Work : Fixed 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm.Key Responsibilities : Undertaking technical survey tasks across a wide range of projects, including topographic, as-built, set-out, HIRB, siting, monitoring, precise levelling, and land transfer surveys;Collecting, recording, and evaluating spatial data using modern survey instruments;Performing calculations, plotting and preparing drawings, plans, and charts in accordance with project requirements;Preparing and maintaining accurate field notes, records, and digital data;Assisting with interpreting and applying standards, codes, and regulations;Liaising with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective project delivery;Supporting Health & Safety practices and ensuring compliance with company procedures.To be successful in this position, our ideal candidate will have : Tertiary qualification in Surveying (Level 6) or an equivalent qualification; OR at least three years of relevant full-time work experience in surveying;Sound knowledge of survey fieldwork, including topographic, as-built, set-out, monitoring, precise levelling surveys;Strong ability to collect, record, and evaluate spatial data, and to prepare accurate plans, drawings, and reports;Competence in industry standard CAD / modelling software (e.g. 12D Model, AutoCAD), with advanced skills considered an advantage;Familiarity with modern survey instruments such as robotic total stations, GNSS, and digital precise levels;Experience and practical skills in 3D laser scanning, preferably Leica geosystems (which is what Babbage use);Experience with Landonline (not essential but desirable);Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and record keeping;Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams;A professional, reliable, and proactive approach to work.To apply, please send your curriculum vitae and cover letter today.
