OverviewWe are seeking a beginner or intermediate-level Laboratory Technician to join our team in Onehunga.
This is a full-time, 12-month maternity cover.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to kickstart their geotechnical and construction materials testing laboratory career, or for an experienced technician wanting to broaden their range of testing skills.The role is with a leading specialist geotechnical testing company; it is hands-on and physically demanding, so a reasonable level of fitness is required.
The role may involve early starts, late finishes, and overtime when required.ResponsibilitiesConduct geotechnical and construction materials laboratory tests on soil, rock, aggregate, and concrete samplesPerform all work in accordance with IANZ accreditation and project management systemEnter, process, and report data accuratelyCollaborate with employees and clients to ensure high-quality project outcomesMotivate with enthusiasm and empathy, bring positive energy, uplift others, and inspire the team to work together toward shared goalsWhat you'll bringIdeally you will have a degree or diploma in Geography, Geology, Earth Sciences, Physical Science, or similarA full, clean NZ driver's licencePhysically capable to handle and test samples up to 25 kgExcellent digital and data skillsGreat problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAttention to detail, accuracy and qualityHardworking, self-motivated and a positive attitudeAble to work autonomously with minimal supervision and collaborate with team membersAbility to manage project objectivesExcellent communication skills and the flexibility to adapt quickly to changeSafety consciousCustomer focusedWho we areGeotechnics Ltd is a specialist materials testing company, providing laboratory- and field-testing services to the geotechnical, civil and environmental engineering industries.
