Mo te turanga - About the role
As a Tax Advisory Manager within the CFO team, you'll play a key technical role supporting the Senior Tax Advisory Manager and Head of Tax New Zealand.
You'll provide specialist tax advice across ANZ's New Zealand operations, with opportunities to support our Pacific businesses as well.
This role is all about building trusted relationships - partnering with Finance, the wider ANZ business, external stakeholders (including IRD and advisors), and ANZ's Global Tax team to deliver clear, accurate, and timely advice on New Zealand tax matters.

The key responsibilities of this role will include the following :
Provide pragmatic, accurate and timely tax advice on diverse products and transactions
Identify and communicate tax law developments which may impact products or strategies within the business
Be part of and share technical experience and expertise with the NZ and Global Tax teams
Shape and sustain effective collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Inland Revenue
Demonstrate living the ANZ Values and our Code of Conduct

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following :
Demonstrated experience in corporate tax advisory
Strong knowledge of New Zealand tax legislation
Technical tax expertise with the ability to make sound, supportable recommendations
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Ability to manage tight timelines and workflows
A track record of building credibility through excellence, customer focus, and strong financial and business acumen
You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
