Salary range $55,624-$65,829.About the RoleAn opportunity has arisen for a motivated Support Officer to join our team at the Refugee Quota Branch.

Based in Mangere, the Refugee Quota Branch is responsible for the selection and resettlement of refugees in line with New Zealand\'s Refugee Quota Policy.The objective of the Refugee Quota Policy is to provide a safe haven and resettle refugees who have been referred by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in accordance with New Zealand\'s national, international and humanitarian obligations and commitments.The Refugee Quota Branch also manages the reception centre and delivery of the reception programme at Te Ahuru Mowai o Aotearoa (formerly Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre).

As a Support Officer, you will contribute to the operations of the branch by : Practicing the MBIE values and working alongside people from diverse cultural backgrounds.Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved with the reception and resettlement of mandated refugees.Remaining nimble and adaptable while working as a collaborative and trusted team member.Managing information systems and general administrative duties to support and coordinate with multiple teams across an interesting and productive office.Skills and Experience RequiredAn ability to work effectively without supervision.Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment to tight timeframes.Proven experience working with information systems and computer technology.Attention to detail.Good appreciation of quality service delivery and organising fluctuating workloads.Ability to develop trust and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.Positive \'can do\' attitude, and an ability to communicate effectively with people of different cultures, genders and abilities including children and young people.Police vetting required.At time of applications you must be a New Zealand citizen or hold New Zealand Permanent Resident visa.About MBIEMBIE\'s goal is to create a resilient and high-performing economy that delivers real and ongoing quality of life for all New Zealanders.We do this by working with others to create an environment that supports businesses to be more productive and internationally competitive, enables all New Zealanders to participate in the economy through improved job opportunities and by working to ensure quality housing is more affordable.People are at the heart of our mahi, our way of working is guided by our values which shape our behaviours.Mahi Tahi – Better TogetherMaia – Bold and bravePae Kahurangi – Build our FuturePono Me Te Tika – Own ItOur aspirations are echoed in our Maori identity – Hikina Whakatutuki – which broadly means 'lifting to make successful\'.
