About the role
We’re looking for a dynamic Technology Operational Risk Specialist who will play a key part in enabling our technology teams to navigate the IAG Risk Management Framework with confidence and ease. You’ll contribute to the continuous improvement of technology risk, control, and assurance processes, helping to strengthen our governance and operational resilience.
Key responsibilities
- Provide first‑line risk support across Technology & Operations in line with Group Risk Management Frameworks.
- Risk profiling and assessments.
- Managing control issues and risk events.
- Overseeing third‑party risk governance.
- Enhancing reporting and oversight of critical systems.
- Engage with Executive‑level stakeholders on technology risk management matters.
- Provide expert guidance on control design and effectiveness, drawing on industry best practices and internal standards.
- Support the identification, assessment, and automation of technology controls, including the use of AI.
- Enable technology teams to independently apply the Risk Management Framework through intuitive tools and resources.
- Leverage internal and external data to deliver forward‑looking technology risk insights.
- Act as a risk SME on projects, initiatives, remediation, and continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate with Technology & Operations teams, Risk Advisors, and control owners to embed risk awareness and accountability across the organisation while actively supporting the implementation of the Technology & Operations Risk Culture Plan.
- Mentor and uplift the skills of junior team members.
- Contribute to future growth planning and support enterprise programmes across IAG.
- Promote a safe and well environment for all team members.
Qualifications and experience
Minimum five years in technology and two years in technology risk, with the ability to apply knowledge to complex environments and evolving risk landscapes.‘Can‑do’ mindset and a friendly, courteous approach that fosters a collaborative and supportive team culture.Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels, building trust and influencing outcomes through clear communication and credibility.Understanding of the importance of delivering value to internal and external customers, consistently putting their needs at the heart of work.Strong ownership of responsibilities and commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes that make a real difference.Passion and drive that inspires others, maintaining momentum even in challenging situations.ITIL® 4 Foundation Certification.Cobit Foundation certification.Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISM, or equivalent.Benefits
