Responsibilities

Researching, designing, implementing, testing, commissioning, and documenting new hardware and software systems.

Programming of PLC and HMI used for the RICADO software.

Providing remote and onsite technical support

Being a member of the after-hours on-call team.

Troubleshooting and debugging performance issues

Working with vendors and hardware suppliers to implement and support systems

Supporting the hardware engineering team and software team.

Following industry-standard processes and procedures

Consulting with departments or customers on project status and proposals.

Provide training to users and fellow staff members

Qualifications

While a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field is advantageous, it is not necessarily a prerequisite for a person who can demonstrate suitable experience, alternative training, and skills.

Working Knowledge and Experience Required

Minimum

Knowledge and interest in computer systems, servers, cloud systems and the latest technologies

Familiarity with a wide range of hardware devices, displays, IoT devices and network technologies

Strong understanding of wireless, cellular, Bluetooth, LoRaWAN and telemetry solutions.

Strong understanding of embedded software solutions and industrial PLCs

Ideal

Agricultural / Kiwifruit knowledge and experience
