Category Assistant - Deli & Perishables

About the Role | Mō te Tūranga

This role provides essential support to the Pantry & Freezer buying team, ensuring the right products are available in stores at the right time to meet customer demand and achieve commercial targets. The role involves assisting Category Managers with daily buying tasks, problem-solving, and responding to internal and external inquiries, including customer complaints. It also encompasses managing promotions, maintaining accurate store ranging, and supporting the end-to-end value chain. You’ll help uphold buying policies and procedures, manage administrative tasks like invoice processing, and ensure data quality across systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end promotional process, from system loading to maintenance, ensuring timely execution and accuracy.
• Drive mailer planning tasks to completion, adhering to established processes.
• Maintain a high level of pricing and data integrity within master data systems.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, managing key communications.
• Assist the Category Manager with ad-hoc tasks and the category review process.
