One Full-time Cook needed!

We are looking for One dedicated Cook to work in our busy Takeaway.

Located at  185 Great South Road, Manurewa, Auckland , Yummy King BBQ & Takeaway is a bustling eatery specializing in  authentic Chinese cuisine . Situated in a vibrant business area, we offer a diverse  takeaway and dine-in menu  featuring  over 50 delicious dishes , from sizzling BBQ meats to classic Chinese favourites.

About the role :

The suitable candidates will join our great food service team and take responsibility for ensuring that all food is produced in an effective and timely manner. Candidates need to work from a minimum of 30 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week between Tuesday to Sunday from 11 : 00 am to 10 : 00 pm . Working more than 40 hours may be required with additional hourly payment, but overtime will be no more than 8 hours per week. Candidates need to work during weekends and public holidays if required.

Your responsibilities will include :

• Prepare and cook dishes following standardised recipes and established procedures.
• Inspect food ingredients and supplies for freshness and quality prior to use.
• Operate and control grills, ovens, fryers, and other kitchen equipment, adjusting temperatures as needed.
• Season food accurately to ensure consistent flavour profiles.
• Portion, plate, and garnish dishes, including applying sauces and toppings as specified.
• Modify food preparation to meet special dietary needs (e.g., allergies, vegetarian preferences).
• Support menu planning and estimate daily food quantities when required.
• Store food items correctly in refrigerators or freezers to preserve safety and quality.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff or apprentices in proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.

Pay

We offer a considerable pay rate between $30 / hour – $31 / hour for ordinary working hours and a higher pay rate for overtime depending on your skills and performance.

Qualification and Experience :

NZ Certificate L4 or higher, or 2 years of relevant experience
