About the role

Fable Auckland Hotel located in the heart of Auckland CBD is a boutique hotel with 79 luxury guest rooms and bespoke dining experiences. We are looking for a Duty Manager who can deliver professional 5-star quality service to our guests.

You will be a ‘people person’ and take pride in your department and hotel. You will be happy to share your knowledge of managing hotel and guest expectations to all members of your team to help strengthen the consistency of service delivery.

This role will suit somebody that is continuously willing to learn and who strives for excellence within the team. Your rapport with guests is excellent and you have a proven record for exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service ensuring guests’ satisfaction and comfort
  • Oversee daily Front Office responsibilities and operations
  • Manage Front Office team in the absence of the Front Office Manager
  • To be a role model for the team and lead by example
  • Maintain effective communication among the team and with other departments
  • Ensure guest requests and complaints are handled professionally
  • Checking guests in and out
  • Able to upsell products and services, as well as implementing all active promotions and offers appropriately
  • Completing reservations and all other duties assigned by Manager

Skills and requirements

  • Previous experience and success as Duty Manager in a luxury hotel environment
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Can-do, positive attitude that consistently delivers exceptional guest engagement
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Attention to details and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Experience with Opera PMS is preferred
  • A current Manager's Certificate
  • A full NZ Driver's License is advantageous
  • Flexible to work on a rotating roster, including AM and PM, weekends and public holidays
  • Current eligibility to work in New Zealand is a must
  • Good understanding of the legislation regarding current Health & Safety, Fire Safety, NZ Licensing laws
  • Immaculate personal presentation and grooming standards
