About the role

As an Account Manager , you will drive new business growth and expand Insight’s market presence by identifying, developing, and securing high-value opportunities. This position is ideal for a results-driven individual with a hunter mindset and a passion for building and converting a strong pipeline of opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Developing and executing a robust new business development strategy targeting mid-to-large enterprise clients
  • Generating new leads through proactive prospecting, networking, events, and leveraging vendor partnerships
  • Identifying whitespace opportunities within existing accounts to grow Insight’s footprint across products and services
  • Meeting and exceeding quarterly gross profit (GP) and revenue targets in a margin-focused sales environment
  • Engaging in consultative, value-based selling to address customer pain points with tailored IT solutions
  • Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities, driving full sales cycle execution from initial contact to close
  • Coordinating internal and vendor resources to develop compelling proposals and solution offerings
  • Maintaining up-to-date account records and activity tracking in Salesforce CRM, ensuring data accuracy and timely forecasting
  • Conducting strategic business reviews and presentations with key decision-makers and influencers
  • Building strategic account plans that align with Insight’s growth objectives and define clear pathways to overachievement
  • Working closely with marketing, solution architects, and delivery teams to drive campaign effectiveness and solution delivery
  • Developing and deepening relationships with key technology vendors and publishers to leverage joint go-to-market strategies
  • Staying informed on market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to position Insight competitively
  • We are looking for an Account Manager with the following capabilities :

  • Proven experience in developing new business within the IT sector, with a strong track record of exceeding targets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at senior levels
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to make sound business decisions
  • Effective time management and organisational skills, with a proactive and goal-oriented approach
  • Experience selling a broad range of technology solutions, including software, hardware, and services
  • Solid understanding of enterprise IT solutions and services, including licensing, cloud, hardware, and consulting
  • Consistent overachievement in a profit and margin-driven environment
  • Proven success in developing complex sales strategies across multi-product and service offerings
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-value deals and complex sales cycles independently
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM or similar platforms to manage pipeline and forecast sales
  • Self-motivated and resilient, with the drive to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience working in a value-added reseller (VAR), systems integrator, or IT service provider
  • Familiarity with major vendors and an established network of industry contacts in Wellington, NZ
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of IT products and market trends
