About the Service
Ward19 is a 20 bed unit providing inpatient care for people with a range of respiratory conditions.
There's lots of variety in our ward and there is great opportunity to develop your skills with training in areas such as chest drains and BiPap.
Location : Ward 19, Christchurch Hospital.
Within our team, nurses are encouraged with their professional development and are supported by a Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialist to facilitate ongoing learning opportunities.
About You
In this busy acute environment, you'll need excellent assessment and time-management skills.
Your excellent communication skills will be pivotal to your success in this role as you will be engaging and educating patients and their families to ensure the best possible outcome.
You will have demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals.
The ability to be adaptable, flexible, and solution-focused.
We will provide you with a thorough orientation package, be well supported by other members of the team and ongoing support to develop the skills required.

Recent respiratory / acute medical experience and a focus and commitment to quality patient care is essential to this role.
Ability to work all shifts – Morning, Afternoon and Nights across Monday to Sunday.
Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
