The Data Analyst helps deliver and improve on the Ministry’s collection and processing of strategically important data that support monitoring of the education system performance. Responsibilities

Identify and problem‑solve data integrity issues, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and deliver high‑quality data to deadlines. Manage secure collection of priority administrative data from schools and ensure data quality and efficient processing.

Qualifications

• Experience working with large data sets, including collection, cleansing, and quality assurance.
• Good working knowledge of data‑processing or statistical analysis software, such as SQL or SAS.
• Strong organisational skills to prioritise own workstreams.
• Clear communication and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the schooling sector is a distinct bonus.
• Ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

About Our Team

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga (Ministry of Education), we provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector. The Schooling Data Team manages data business processes, overseeing the secure collection of priority administrative data from schools and maintaining data quality.

Compensation

Salary range : $74,815 – $90,347 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver.
