The role | Te tūnga
There are two fixed term roles available : 1x 6‑month fixed term position until June 2026; 1x 18‑month fixed term position until June 2027. The roles are based in Christchurch or Wellington and report to the Unit Manager – Data and Information Management. The roles will work in close partnership with the Data and Information Management Unit, the Digital Triage team along with stakeholders across the business. As a Senior Business Analyst – Data Management, your focus will be on scoping and developing an enterprise information and data asset register using MS365 tools to improve the governance and lifecycle management of information and data assets at Stats NZ. This will require leading engagement with business units and teams across the organisation to identify and record assets, define essential register attributes / metadata and design and implement a MS365 solution that meets Stats NZ requirements.
Working closely with teams across the organisation, you will be required to build positive and productive relationships. You will be highly organised, self‑managing, able to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team. You will be familiar with techniques and frameworks of your discipline and be comfortable learning in a high‑paced environment. Experience with developing an asset register and advanced experience using MS365 tools would be highly advantageous. You must be able to demonstrate evidence of delivering on a high‑paced initiative.
