Kaitohu Matua | Senior Data Engineer (6-month fixed term)
Our Te Raraunga, ngā Māramatanga me te Aroturukitanga | Data, Insights & Monitoring tīma is looking for a Kaitohu Matua | Senior Data Engineer for 6 months. This role ensures that data and insights stakeholders have information at their fingers through supporting and implementing the creation and curation of authoritative data that follows ministry and government standard practice, and allows for integration of data from multiple domains and sources.

The Data & Insights team is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join the Data & Insights Directorate. This role will support our data platform Te Kete Raraunga using the Microsoft stack.

The likely appointment range is $104,317 - $115,907 based on skills and experience. The full grade for this role is $104,317 - $139,088 with a mid-point of $115,907. This will be pro-rated for the period of the fixed term.

This is a unique opportunity to work with Māori data. To be successful in this role, you will have experience in data engineering environments and experience working with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage and SQL server. You’ll understand data warehousing concepts and data model design, ETL and data integration processes and have relevant certification in Microsoft data technologies. You’ll be able to communicate complex data engineering concepts easily to a wide range of audiences, but particularly non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in hybrid agile environments is a plus.
