OverviewJoin to apply for the Applications Solution Specialist role at PlaceMakers.As an Applications Solution Specialist, you'll take ownership of MiTek, our mission-critical software platform that powers PlaceMakers' frame and truss manufacturing operations.
From initial design and estimating through to scheduling, fabrication, and delivery, MiTek plays a central role in how we build.
You will work closely with manufacturing teams, technical partners and vendors to troubleshoot issues, optimise workflows, deliver practical solutions and enhance system performance to meet evolving business needs.ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end support and operational deliveryAct as the primary contact for resolving system issues and minimising workflow disruptionsDrive system improvements that boost efficiency, accuracy and overall performanceTurn user feedback into actionable system enhancements that support continuous improvementCollaborate with vendors and internal teams to plan upgrades and deliver solutionsProvide training, documentation, and support system use across the businessShare insights to inform strategic planning and guide future system developmentBased on site at PlaceMakers Support Office in Penrose, Auckland, this is a permanent full-time role, offering 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with business-critical after-hours on-call responsibilities as required.About you / QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you'll bring 5+ years of IT experience in in business-critical applications and service delivery, with strong technical skills across database architecture, system integration, cloud technologies, and performance optimisationProficient in SQL, and familiarity with cloud integration platforms (Azure)Familiar with software development lifecycle methodologies Agile or WaterfallStrong communicator, able to engage both technical and operational stakeholdersComfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to support development and documentationExperience with MiTek software (Sapphire) or similarIndustry experience in construction, building materials, or distribution are advantageousCompetitive base salary and staff-buying privilegesGenuine development opportunities that come with being part of the wider Fletcher Building GroupWomen in Sales initiative, a dedicated programme whose core focus is on providing opportunities to women in our network to upskill, learn, grow and achieve their personal and career aspirationsHealth & Wellbeing initiatives including an Employee Assistance ProgrammeJoin Us / Diversity & InclusionJoin Us : We value diversity and encourage applications from all backgrounds.
