Speech Language Therapist (Core Clinical Role), Starship Child HealthPermanent, part-time (0.6FTE) positionCommunity based service, Greenlane Clinical CentreHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the roleWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Speech Language Therapist to join the Starship Community service.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide a family centred, culturally sensitive, community based, safe, effective, outcome focused speech language therapy service to children with disabilities referred to the Multidisciplinary Child Development Service.About the Team / Service / LocationBased at Greenlane Clinical Centre, Starship Community provides interdisciplinary care and cultural support to children; young people, their families and whanau living within the Auckland area.

A part of the Starship Child Health directorate, our nursing; allied health and technical staff are responsible for delivering health care services to children; young people, and whanau in their home; school and community settings.

Service delivery is via an inter-disciplinary team approach, centred around three guiding principles;Elimination of inequities in achieving health and wellbeing outcomes for Maori and other priority populations with high health and / or social needs.Knowing and working closely within the community (Locality based)About youTo succeed in this role, you will : Be a registered Speech Language Therapist in New Zealand with a current Annual Practising CertificateHold a full and clean NZ drivers licenseHave relevant clinical experience in health and / or disability sectorsHave an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in your roleHave an overriding passion for improving outcomes for childrenIdeally you will have previous paediatric experience, including experience in paediatric dysphagia, although applicants with the right qualifications and keen interest in providing excellent paediatric Speech Language Therapy will be considered.
