About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Healthcare Assistant to join our team.
Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to patients and supporting the clinical team.
As a Healthcare Assistant you will assist nursing staff with patient care (including personal care and patient watch) whilst maintaining a safe and clean work environment on the ward.
About the Service
Our service is a busy ward providing care for our acute general surgery patients, undergoing general surgical procedures within the ward environment and high-dependency surgical patients in our 8 bed Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU).
About You
We are looking for candidates who have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to use their initiative.
You will work with a diverse multi-disciplinary team and follow a rotating roster including weekend shifts.
Ability to work all shifts - Morning, Afternoon and Nights
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A high attention to detail and the ability to relate to patients and their families.
A good use of initiative and problem-solving skills.
Excellent time management skills and a willingness to learn.
You will be well accustomed to working within a fast-paced environment and prioritising your tasks continuously as your day evolves.
Availability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Previous healthcare experience is desirable
