Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager / Head Chef to lead the food operations at their premium venue. This is a hands-on chef role, with approximately 80% of the position focused on cooking and the remaining 20% on management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Culinary Excellence : Prepare and present high-quality, nutritious meals, including café staples like scones, muffins, and paninis, as well as event catering (e.g., buffet nights, themed dinners, and special occasions).
- Team Leadership : Manage and support the kitchen team, which includes a chef, kitchen hand, café assistant, and café supervisor, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Quality Assurance : Maintain exceptional food presentation and service standards to meet the expectations of discerning residents.
- Administrative Duties : Oversee budgeting, food costs, stock control, menu planning, and general administrative tasks.
What We're Looking For :
Experienced Chef : Proven culinary skills with experience in café and restaurant settings.Leadership Skills : Demonstrated kitchen management experience, preferably in a retirement village or similar environment.Financial Skills : Ability to manage budgets, control food costs, and handle operational requirements.Passion for Excellence : Commitment to delivering high-quality meals and an outstanding dining experience.Eligibility : Full working rights in New Zealand are required.What's on Offer :
