About the role
We are seeking a results-driven Commercial Account Manager to maintain customer relationships and drive business growth across the Wellington region.
Based at CARTERS Petone, this role requires a strategic, customer-focused professional with a strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to build and maintain high-value client relationships within the commercial building and construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Retention :
Manage and strengthen long-term relationships with an existing portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring consistent engagement and satisfaction.
New Business Development :
Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through strategic prospecting, market analysis, and networking initiatives.
Customer Insight & Forecasting :
Develop a deep understanding of customer project pipelines to anticipate requirements, provide tailored solutions, and support long-term project planning.
Supplier & Partner Collaboration :
Foster and manage relationships with key suppliers to deliver comprehensive product and service offerings that meet customer demands.
Sales Process Management :
Collaborate with internal teams across inventory, logistics, and pricing to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective solutions.
Oversee the full sales lifecycle from inquiry to delivery.
Issue Resolution :
Serve as the primary escalation point for customer issues, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining service excellence standards.
Key Requirements
Proven experience in commercial account management or B2B sales, preferably within the construction, trade, or industrial sectors.
Strong business development capabilities and a track record of delivering revenue growth.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, solution-oriented environment.
Commercially astute with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
