Retail Steak Cutters

Based in vibrant New Plymouth, Green Meadows Beef was established in 2012 as a paddock-to-plate beef business selling meat packs online, with the dream to take grass-fed Angus beef straight into the mouths of New Zealand families.

Now we not only produce beef, but also lamb, pork and venison products for sale both nationally and internationally.We have an opportunity for a Retail Steak Cutter with knife skills and / or retail butchery experience to join us in our further processing division.

Ideally the successful candidate would be available to work a minimum of 37.5hrs Monday-Friday, with hours to be agreed.You will primarily be responsible for : Slicing various beef, lamb and venison cuts to set weightsPreparing and arranging beef, lamb and venison cuts for retail saleHitting agreed yield and offcut targetsEnsuring the products are cut and presented to a standard suitable for retail consumersAssisting with other general butchery / meat processing tasks as requiredOur ideal person will be experienced working in a fast paced and high-pressure work environment, along with : Having at least 1 year experience in a related roleHaving reliable transportAn eye for detail and a quality focusThe ability to work in a temperature regulated environmentBeing physically fit and able to manually handle equipment and productsExcellent time management and organisational skillsHaving the ability to build rapport with your co-workers and have a bit of fun!

The pay band for this role is between $25 and $32.50 per hour, dependent on skills and past experience.If you can think on your feet, have a 'can-do' work ethic and thrive on producing quality products, we'd love to hear from you.In return, we offer a fun, family-orientated work environment within a growing team.As part of our health and safety policies, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a pre-employment drug screening test.
