• About the Role
• The successful candidate will be patient, family and whānau-centred in their approach. You will have experience working with Māori patients in a hospital setting as well as experience working with whānau Māori in the community. You will be skilled in therapeutic engagement and will undertake psychosocial assessment, risk assessment and safety planning. You will have experience working with grief and loss, crisis intervention, safeguarding people across the lifespan and complex problem solving.Please for position description
• About the Team / Service / Location
• This position will give you the opportunity to consult with multi-disciplinary teams on the social work role incorporating Māori models of care into patient care to enhance clinical outcomes for Māori patients and their whānau.For more information on living and working in Waitematā click
• About you
• It is essential that you have lived experience of te Ao Māori and have social work experience in the health sector of working with Māori clients and whānauCurrent New Zealand Drivers LicenseExperience gained in an inpatient hospital setting and in the community is preferredThe successful applicant will have experience of working therapeutically with people experiencing ill health, grief and loss and managing complex social issuesA social work degree and registration with the New Zealand Social Workers Registration Board including a current Annual Practising Certificate is requiredANZASW & Tangata Whenua Social Workers Association is preferredShare our passion for delivering an excellent serviceEnjoy team work and are also capable of working autonomously.
