Te Haikura ā Kiwa (James Cook High School) is seeking an innovative and committed educator to take up the newly created role of Head of eLearning . This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape digital learning across the school, ensuring technology is used deliberately and meaningfully to enhance teaching, learning, and student achievement.

We are committed to accelerating digital fluency for staff and students so that digital tools empower learning rather than distract from it. Our BYOD plan focuses on Y11–13, while at Y9–10, device use is targeted and deliberate, complementing effective pedagogy and providing balance in students’ learning experiences.

The successful applicant will :

• Lead the development and implementation of our eLearning strategy.
• Build teacher capability in digital pedagogy and technology integration.
• Oversee the BYOD rollout and effective digital learning practices.
• Lead our growing Digital technology department .
• Strengthen partnerships with Ara P-TECH , connecting school, industry, and tertiary pathways.
• Support digital systems that enhance teaching, learning, and assessment.
