Grand Harbour Chinese Restaurant was established in 2000 and we strive to serve the
most authentic Hong Kong-style dishes and Yum Cha in Auckland. Whether for lunch or
dinner, Grand Harbour Chinese Restaurant has become Auckland’s premier source for
traditional Chinese Yum Char and fine Chinese dining with a host of delicious traditional
recipes, specializing in duck as well as a wide range of seafood, including lobster, fish
and crab dishes.
We are now looking for a talented and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our
team to cover all our operational hours.
The role is full-time permanent working 30-40 hours per week. We offer a competitive
hourly rate between $28-$35. To be successful in this role, you will need to have the
following attributes.
1. Strong knowledge of Chinese cuisine
2. A minimum of one year of relevant experience in delivering dining and catering services or a relevant diploma or higher qualification.
3. Good time-management skills
4. A team-player
Your main responsibilities are as below.
1. Designing, planning, and updating menus in collaboration with chefs, aligning with
seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and restaurant goals.
2. Ensuring menu items are cost-effective, meeting high culinary standards, and
contributing to a positive guest experience.
3. Overseeing the procurement of goods and ingredients, ensuring the restaurant is
consistently stocked with high-quality items.
4. Negotiating with suppliers for favorable pricing and establishing purchasing
schedules to avoid shortages.
5. Setting and monitoring pricing strategies to maximize profitability while remaining
competitive in the market.
6. Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, ensuring proper stock rotation, and
minimizing waste.
7. Tracking and reporting financial transactions related to inventory, including cost of
goods sold, and monitoring expenditures to stay within budget.
8. Performing regular inventory audits and implementing systems to streamline stock
management.
9. Planning and coordinating special events
10. Ensuring the restaurant complies with all local health and safety regulations,
including food safety, sanitation standards, and staff hygiene protocols.
11. Providing exceptional customer service, actively engaging with customers to assess
their dining experience and addressing any concerns or feedback.
12. Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified kitchen and front-of-house staff,
ensuring the team is diverse, skilled, and motivated.
13. Supervising daily operations, providing leadership, guidance, and performance
feedback to ensure high levels of service.
14. Developing and implementing training programs to staff
