The Business

We’re all about locally brewed beers at Dunedin Social Club, which is why you will only ever find beers from around the Dunedin region on our taps. Beers, Banter and Good Times. This bustling bar in the heart of the Octagon prides itself on being the place to go for an after work beer to the place you meet your friends on a Friday night. We’re fun, we’re creative and we’re up late!

The Role

This is a position which requires you to set an example in the kitchen with your exemplary cooking skills, and maintaining the highest of standards.

Your main responsibilities include :

• Completing ordering and stocktaking to plan and manage food costs
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
• Understanding the food control plan and understanding the cleaning standards and processes within the kitchen
• Ensure all food is prepped and portion controlled prior to service to ensure no food prep is required to be completed during service
• Ensuring clear communication between the kitchen, front of house and head office

This is a permanent full-time position of an average of at least 30 hours per week with a maximum of 60 hours per week.
