Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity

The Monitoring and Evaluation team at Te Puni Kokiri have a short-term opportunity for an experienced Principal Analyst to lead the operational output of the unit.

You will lead the Monitoring and Reporting function in relation to Maori outcomes across the system, this is one of the five primary deliverables that are part of the Ministry's strategic intentions

    Mou | About You

We're looking for someone who has strong strategic policy experience.

You will have experience writing for a Minister / s and Select Committee and be able to translate complex technical information into simple and easy to understand language for a range of audiences.

You will also have good understanding of the Data & Insights through the lens of Te Ao Maori.

You will also have the ability to identify the solutions that work in complex scenarios.

You will lead the relationships with delivery agencies to ensure Te Puni Kokiri is positioned to provide implementable policy solutions and advocate for whanau centred solutions that achieve better outcomes for Maori.

You'll be a well experienced Principal or a strong Senior, however if you're looking for a development opportunity then this role is not for you because this is due to the short nature - we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, quickly.

The team is responsible for the monitoring work programme at Te Puni Kokiri in its legislated role to monitor and liaise with public service agencies to ensure the adequacy of services provided to and for Maori.

Through their work, they ensure Te Puni Kokiri is positioned to influence system change to improve outcomes for Maori.

The likely appointment range is $123,317 (90%) - $137,018 (100%), depending on skills and experience, however we have some flexibility with this, given the short nature of the role - please contact us to discuss if you'd prefer, before applying.

Our preference is someone full-time for this period, however we would consider a part-time working arrangement.

This is a unique opportunity to work with Maori data to influence policy decision making across the public sector to achieve better outcomes for Maori.

Please note that we will be contacting and shortlisting applicants as they apply and we may close applications early, so please apply as soon as possible.
