You will be a thought-leader and the key economic voice for New Zealand’s productive sectors, leading by influence to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior government and industry stakeholders. A core part of the role is mentorship and capability building , helping a passionate team of analysts grow their confidence and real-world impact. You will drive flagship economic publications, while providing pragmatic, real-time advice on issues affecting key sectors like large-scale production, resource management, and exports.

• Strong background in economics, applied to real-world policy or business contexts.
• Proven expertise in, or the ability to quickly establish credibility within, large-scale production, export sectors, or agribusiness environments.
• Exceptional ability to communicate and distil complex analysis into clear, concise advice for senior leaders.
• A track record of mentoring and collaborating to uplift team capability.
• Experience in economic modelling, policy evaluation, cost-benefit analysis, or contributing to high-quality economic publications is highly valued.
