Hatchery Manager

In this pivotal role, you'll lead the daily operations of the hatchery, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality Day-Old Chicks (DOCs) through effective incubation, planning, and collaboration. Safety, quality, biosecurity, and animal welfare will be your non-negotiables, as you take ownership of site management, production planning, cost control, and continuous improvement — all while supporting the National Hatchery Manager in achieving world-class outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead all hatchery operations to deliver high-quality chicks to internal and external customers, on time and in spec (DIFOTIS).
• Champion health & safety, ensuring a safe, engaged, and compliant workplace.
• Oversee incubation, hatching, logistics, and daily production planning.
• Recruit, train, and develop staff, building capability and succession.
• Ensure full compliance with biosecurity, animal welfare, and quality standards.
• Maintain plant and equipment to minimise downtime and optimise performance.
• Partner with internal and external customers to deliver outstanding service.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and achieve KPIs through lean practice.
