KidsCan, a leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting children in need across New Zealand, is seeking a passionate Fundraising and Events Manager to join their Albany Head Office in Auckland. With a focus on both strategic planning and hands-on execution, this position provides a unique blend of creative campaign development, logistical event management, and meaningful relationship building.
What You'll Do
As the Fundraising and Events Manager, you will be entrusted with elevating the organisation’s fundraising activity through both strategic oversight and hands-on delivery. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating closely with the Senior Events and Fundraising Manager to bring a variety of impactful events to life—from concept through execution—while ensuring every detail aligns with KidsCan’s mission.
You will take charge of key national campaigns like the Christmas Cracker appeal by overseeing creative development, partner engagement, activation logistics, and post-campaign evaluation. Your ability to build strong relationships with supporters—whether they are individuals or corporate partners—will be crucial as you seek out new opportunities for income generation.
Working alongside marketing professionals ensures that every campaign is communicated powerfully across multiple channels. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining meticulous records using CRM platforms like Raiser’s Edge while keeping a close eye on budgets.
What You Bring
Your background may include roles within not-for-profits or other purpose-led organisations where you have honed your ability to manage logistics efficiently while keeping sight of broader strategic goals. You thrive when managing multiple priorities thanks to your exceptional organisational skills. Analytical thinking allows you to interpret data effectively so that each campaign builds upon previous successes.
Financial stewardship is second nature—you’re adept at monitoring budgets while ensuring resources are used wisely. Proficiency with digital tools like Microsoft Office is expected; any experience with CRM systems such as Raiser’s Edge will further enhance your effectiveness.
