About the role | Mō te tūranga :

Our Auckland laboratory is currently offering an exciting opportunity for two permanent, Laboratory Technician to join the Microbiology Department. A Laboratory Technician with microbiology experience is preferred; however, consideration will also be given to training someone with the right skills, preferably with a science background. We are looking to bring both a full-time and a part-time team member on board as part of our growing laboratory.

To be successful in this role you need to have :

• Ability to absorb, evaluate, and respond to information and ideas in a positive manner.
• Highly motivated and driven with professional attitude.
• Ability to work well under pressure and safety and quality conscious.
• Ability to organise, prioritise and focus on daily work to meet turnaround times.
• Preference for candidates with microbiology experience, but open to expertise in other related areas.
• Continuous improvement mind set.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Flexibility to work additional hours when required, including weekends.
• Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook.
