Laboratory Technician

Overview

We are seeking a beginner or intermediate-level Laboratory Technician to join our team in Onehunga. This is a full-time, 12-month maternity cover. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to kickstart their geotechnical and construction materials testing laboratory career, or for an experienced technician wanting to broaden their range of testing skills.

The role is with a leading specialist geotechnical testing company; it is hands-on and physically demanding, so a reasonable level of fitness is required. The role may involve early starts, late finishes, and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical and construction materials laboratory tests on soil, rock, aggregate, and concrete samples
• Perform all work in accordance with IANZ accreditation and project management system
• Enter, process, and report data accurately
• Collaborate with employees and clients to ensure high-quality project outcomes
• Motivate with enthusiasm and empathy, bring positive energy, uplift others, and inspire the team to work together toward shared goals
