About the opportunity :
In this key role you will ensure the depot is appropriately staffed, maintained and controlled in a safe, productive and cost-effective manner.
You will maintain effective control on all silo and warehouse stocks as well as contributing to improvements in site operational efficiency.
You will also have further responsibilities for the oversight of the Napier and New Plymouth depots.
Your main responsibilities will include :
Planning and coordinating depot operations and stock management.
Adhering and modelling a commitment to all Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd 'Zero Harm - Safety First' policies, principles and procedures.
Observing and giving feedback and recognition to fellow employees, contractors and visitors on safe and unsafe behaviours.
Planning and scheduling.
Assistance with shipping operations (across 3 sites).
Minimising vehicle downtime and maximising load deliveries to minimise costs.
Conducting site induction and other training for visitors, contractors and staff.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, contractors, supervisors and the general public.
About You :
We are looking for someone who is a dedicated team member who will role up their sleeves and be hands on with any task given!
Whilst we are looking for the qualities and experience listed below, we are also open to training the right person with the right can-do attitude!
Experience in related industries i.e. Concrete / Construction / Building Materials / Industrial manufacturing or related sectors is preferred but not essential.
Practical working experience in a logistics / operational field would be advantageous
A strong team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Customer service experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Problem solving skills.
Intermediate computer skills - Word, Excel, Google workspace.
SAP experience is desirable.
Knowledge of health and safety is advantageous
Car (Class One) License.
You must also be prepared to respond out of office hours and to travel as and when required to meet the needs of the business.
