Job Title

Contracts Administrator role at Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI)

Location : Wellington | Role type : Permanent, 24 hours per week | Salary : General Salary Range H : $60,750 to $75,000 depending on skills and experience

About the Role – Mōu

As a Contracts Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting efficient procurement and contract management for the Chemical and Microbiological Assurance team. This includes managing contract documentation and deliverables, supporting contract development and variations, and contributing to the contract management framework.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a framework for tracking and monitoring the performance of all contracts managed by the team.
  • Lead the administration processes involved in developing contracts and managing associated variations.
  • Provide procurement and contract-related monitoring and administrative support.
  • Review, edit, and improve contract documentation.
  • Liaise with external service providers and manage administrative tasks related to contract and operational meetings.
  • Maintain and enhance contract-related administrative systems and processes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the Assurance Quality Management System and ensure procedures are developed, adhered to and up to date.
  • Support various shared responsibilities as needed.

About You – Mōu

To be successful, you’ll have experience providing administrative expertise in a large and complex organisation. Specifically, your experience will include :

  • Experience in contract administration processes
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with customers and meet their expectations
  • Understanding of budgets in a contract management context
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Collaborative nature and a can-do attitude
  • In addition to technical skills, you’ll have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused and proactive approach. You’ll have strong planning and coordination skills, stakeholder engagement abilities, and the ability to see the big picture while maintaining attention to detail.
