Senior Business Analyst (fixed term till 30 June 2026)Rarangi Utu a-Matauranga - Education Payroll Limited (EPL) is a Crown entity that delivers pay to schools and kura on behalf of the Ministry of Education.
With around 200 employees, we deliver one of the largest and most complex payrolls in Australasia.The combination of great people and cutting-edge technology enable us to pay around 100,000 teachers and support staff across around 2,500 schools accurately and on time every fortnight.
That's approximately $283 million a fortnight and $7.4 billion per annum.The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for analysing and documenting business requirements and impact assessments.
This role is highly collaborative and will engage with subject matter experts and the wider business.
They will also ensure the requirements are understood and documented concisely with the delivery teams.
They will have a deep awareness of how our business operations work and help stakeholders explore possible solutions to effectively execute their roles.A regular day for a Senior BA includes attending agile ceremonies, engaging with stakeholders, and supporting the team to deliver on time.If successful, you'll be appointed between $92,000 and $127,000 per annum depending on experience and capability.Education Payroll is primarily an office-based workplace but also offer flexible working arrangements.
Our office is in central Wellington and is easily accessible for those who commute.Key accountabilities : working on multiple inter-related initiatives for developing and maintaining our core productspreparing requirements, impact assessments, and user stories that fits business needsanalysing data utilising SQL and other analysis toolsworking closely with operational and development teams to ensure requirements are understood and cleardocumentation of business processes and user guidesdeveloping and maintaining a strong understanding of the business areas assigned to them.To be successful in this role you will need to be : curious, ask good questions and have attention to detailadaptable, flexible and able to manage working on multiple initiativesan excellent relationship builder / maintainer with strong communication and engagement skillsable to analyse complex issues / situations and stakeholder requirements to develop effective options.You will also bring : 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst or have worked on a similar role2+ years' experience working in an agile environmentprevious experience in planning, implementation, of business requirementsprevious experience in development of current and future state processesprevious experience of analysing complex issues and developing effective solutions for implementationan understanding of business processes and process modelling using BPMN 2.0 is desirableprevious experience in mentoring and coordinating is desirable.Ako | Learning & improvingMahi tahi | working togetherMe pehea te tono - How to applyWe'd love to hear why you'll be a great addition to the team.
