Job Description
As a visible role within the community, you will actively engage and collaborate with local iwi, service providers, community groups, and agencies to ensure accurate information is being communicated to families and the court where applicable, as well as understanding the availability and suitability of their services and resources.
A key aspect of the Kaiarahi role will be relationship building between these communities and the Justice system, bringing your knowledge of the Family Court and Judicial Services processes to the conversation to work with participants and the court to facilitate access to justice.
While this position is based in the Manukau District Court, you will also be required to work in the community on a regular basis.
This is not your standard 9-5 role, and from time to time you will need to be able to work weekends and outside normal work hours, to meet the needs of our communities.
Travel across your region will also be required to ensure all communities across Aotearoa are receiving consistent, quality support.
Responsibilities
Actively engage and collaborate with local iwi, service providers, community groups, and agencies.
Ensure accurate information is communicated to families and the court.
Build relationships between communities and the Justice system.
Work outside normal work hours, including weekends, as required.
Travel across the region to support communities.
Qualifications and Skills
No candidate will meet every single desired qualification.

Excellent relationship management skills.
High level of comfort working with Whanau, Hapu, and Iwi.
Understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and Tikanga Maori.
Technical knowledge and experience in Family and District Courts highly advantageous.
Ability to understand and communicate complex documents, including legislation, financial, numerical, and business information.
Full driver's licence.

Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $83,562 and $116,273 based on skills and experience.
