OverviewPort Marlborough is embarking on a nationally significant infrastructure programme, and we're looking for a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to help deliver it.
This is a fixed term role for the length of the project, based in Marlborough (4 to 5 years).
This role is your chance to be part of the new Ferry Development Project, a major initiative that will transform the gateway between the North and South Islands.
With new marine and landside infrastructure designed to accommodate the future Cook Strait ferries, this project offers scale, complexity, and purpose.What You'll DoThis is a boots-on-the-ground, fast-paced role that will see you immersed in daily site activity, collaborating across internal teams and external consultants and contractors.
You\'ll support the project from concept to delivery, working on-site you'll be ensuring that works are being completed and that relationships between stakeholders are being reinforced with positive communication and trust.As a key player in the project team, you\'ll be the bridge between the design, construction, and operational outcomes, helping drive delivery while ensuring health, safety, and quality standards are met.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day engineering support across marine and landside construction worksManage and liaise with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to align engineering outcomesMonitor contractor performance to ensure quality, compliance, and timely deliveryPromote and uphold the highest health and safety standards on siteWork closely with Port Marlborough's operational managers and the wider project team to maintain momentum and alignmentWhat You'll BringA tertiary qualification in engineering (BEng / NZDE or equivalent)5 years' experience in construction or infrastructure projectsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving and deliveryA strong commitment to health and safetyWhy Join Port Marlborough?
