Principal Advisor - Pacific Health (Fixed Term)

About the Role
We have a full-time fixed term opportunity for a Principal Advisor to join our Pacific Health Directorate. Reporting directly to the National Director Pacific Health.
In this role you will be responsible for sharing in the accountability within the office of the National Director for supporting the interface between Health New Zealand, Government, and the wider state sector. The group is responsible for those functions which support transparency and accountability to New Zealanders, including OIA coordination, Privacy, Ministerial Services Advice functions and leading critical programmes for Pacific Health. As a developing directorate with varied work responsibilities, we work across teams to establish and maintain consistency in both our processes, and how we represent Health New Zealand to the external audiences we engage with.
About the Team / Service / Location
This role sits within the Pacific Health Directorate within Health NZ. The team is dedicated to improving health outcomes for Pacific communities through strategic planning, effective funding allocation, and strong partnerships with providers and stakeholders. As part of this collaborative and impact-driven team, you will contribute to initiatives that support equitable access to healthcare and culturally responsive services.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience of overseeing ministerial and government services work relevant to the requirements of this role and be able to use this experience to bring ideas across to improve processes. You would be confident in leading projects and programmes, have a strong eye for detail and quality, and the ability to quickly understand new information, manage a broad range of work, prioritise well and keep key players informed.
