An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and innovative Registered Nurse looking for the next challenge in their career. Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre (BRC) is seeking to expressions of interest for a secondment to a Clinical Charge Nurse role for a period of one year. The Clinical Charge Nurse will join our existing nursing leadership team consisting of Clinical Team Leader, Clinical Charge Nurse and Nurse Educator to provide nursing development through the provision of clinical education, coaching and mentoring. The Clinical Charge Nurse will rotate between shifts working primarily Tuesday to Saturday to ensure clinical leadership is available 24 / 7 and particularly in the PM shifts.
BRC is a specialist inpatient service providing recovery focussed rehabilitation for 40 people aged 18-65 years, the majority of whom are aged under 30 years and all experience serious mental illness with associated high and complex needs. This service is committed to facilitating a therapeutic recovery oriented environment utilising evidence based practice in response to clients clinical and rehabilitation needs.
BRC is undergoing evolutionary change brought about by an on-going increase in the complexity of referrals. As Clinical Charge Nurse you will be required to coordinate the shift managing available resources, provide clinical nursing leadership, support generic nursing activity and actively contribute to a range of service development initiatives.

Reporting directly to the Clinical Team Leader this role could be the next step in your career development; we are keen to provide a strong framework of support to assist you to accomplish your goals as well as ours.
You will be a Registered Comprehensive (with PG Cert in MH) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with previous experience in nursing leadership roles in mental health services. You will have a high level of understanding of the continuum of care and a commitment to the fundamental values and attitudes of modern mental health service delivery and be able to robustly evidence application of this in the clinical context. Evidence of successful completion of PDRP L3 or L4 is desired.
