An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Accountant to join a leading organisation with a significant presence across New Zealand. What You'll Do

As a Commercial Accountant, you will immerse yourself in the day-to-day financial operations of a large-scale manufacturing environment.

• Partner with operational teams to deliver robust forecasting processes and annual budget requirements that align with business objectives.
• Provide coaching across the network to enhance commercial understanding within operational teams, fostering a culture of shared financial responsibility.
• Drive analytics and deliver actionable insights into cost performance using standard costing methods, cost-to-serve analysis, volume / rate / mix reviews, root cause analysis, benchmarking, and best practice comparisons.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within your area of accountability by proactively analysing data and recommending strategies for enhanced profitability.
• Participate in the Sales and Operations Planning process by contributing to reporting frameworks that support effective decision-making across multiple sites.
• Review and update standard costing processes as well as reporting frameworks to ensure accuracy and relevance throughout the quarry network.
• Utilise available tools and data to challenge existing operational dynamics, supporting the development of initiatives that optimise cash flow and profitability.
• Undertake project work including developing business cases, supporting approval processes, and assisting with implementation once projects are greenlit.
• Provide timely analysis and interpretation of monthly financial results to senior finance stakeholders, highlighting key trends and variances.
• Take ownership of inventory management functions during month-end processes while also managing manufacturing accounting tasks as required.
